    • Title:
Statistical Physics of Complex Many-Body Problems applied to Hard Optimization, Information Science, and Economics
    • Abstract:
Concepts and techniques developed to understand and quantify for the cooperative
behaviour of a class of strongly and competitively interacting condensed matter
systems have turned out to be very useful in understanding and quantifying typical
behaviours and possibilities in a wide range of complex systems involving cooperation
of many simple units but with conflicting and often disordered interactions, throughout
physics, computer science, information science, biology and social science. This talk
will provide an introductory overview to illustrate the common conceptual features
and the opportunities their recognition provides.
